Born in Auckland, Ne w Zealand, 1960 from a good upbringing but by the age of 13 while in high school he became interested in girls, drinking alcohol and smoking marijuana.
He lead a hippy lifestyle for the next 30 years, traveling around the world, chasing after happiness. At the age of forty, while in India, he attended a talk by His Holiness, the Dalai Lama and his interest in Buddhism arises.
Finally, at the age of forty none, he travelled to the the Buddhist Hermitage, Lunas, Malaysia, a Burmese Meditation Centre, where he took higher ordination
He has since then spent time in Thailand, Sri Lanka, New Zealand and Malaysia where he studied, practice the Dhamma, as well as giving Dhamma talks and guided meditation to those who wish to learn.

23 Dec 2014, Tuesday, Sanghika Dana to benefit a ‘MONKS’ HOSPICE’ dedicated to ailing monks in need of Hospice and Palliative Care. The building is located in Loei Province,Thailand.
The project is a commitment to fulfil by Phra Yanawisit (Luang Phor Thong)Abbot of Wat Asokaram, Thailand managed by Phra Vinaya Dhamma Vidhes (Chao Khun Keng)Abbot of Santi Forest Monastery, Malaysia.

Sanghika Dana 是为了筹建一所能让生病的出家人得
Dhanasamanusorn。Dhanasamanusorn的地点是位于 泰国东北部的黎府，Amphoe Meuang，与当地的主要医院，黎府医院
相距约一公里。筹建Dhanasamanusorn 寺院的工程是由Wat Asokaram 的住持，Luang Phor Thong所发起，并将由宁心寺的住持，Chao Kun Keng 协助推行。
其缘起，可追溯到1988年。当时，Luang Phor Chop Tanasamo计划建造一所寺院，以便让泰国东北部及北部生病的出家人能有一个疗养的地方。
寺院建造其间， Luang Phor Chop Tanasamo却圆寂了。从Luang Phor Chop Tanasamo圆寂，至今只有几位出家人住在哪儿。这所寺院已变得相当破旧，并没有获得良好的维修。
在2014年五月，Luang Phor Thong Chantasiri决定继续这项工程来完成Luang Phor Chop Tanasamo 的计划--建造Dhanasamanusorn僧人疗养院。

A series of four Metta Bhavana meditation classes by Venerable Khai Zhao commenced last night's first session 19 Nov, 8.30pm was well attended. The energy, enthusiasm between Teacher & yogi practitioner was bright, encouraging and energizing.
The first session Venerable Khai Zhao explains the theory of Metta Bhavana and the benefits of practicing it. After the first session, all are encouraged to practice daily recites 'May I be Free from Enmity' when one experience any unwholesome feeling, With this simple practice one can experience and see how the mind evolved.
Venerable Khai Zhao's teaching is light hearted, direct, simple, humorous and yet deeply profound.
We are truly grateful and fortunate to have Venerable Khai Zhao, conducts the session. The next session is on the 4 Dec. To all the yogis from now Till 4 Dec please remember, 'Close your eyes, close your mouth, watch your mind and recite, May I be free from enmity' to any unwholesome sensation'

Hospice is a philosophy of care that focuses on improving the quality of life for individuals with life-limiting illness.
Hospice care can be provided in the home, hospital or nursing home setting.
Hospice and palliative care approach is to improve the quality of life by managing pain and other symptoms.
Venerable Khai Zhao’s in this Dhamma talk guides us on practicing Loving Kindness (Metta ) as a the soothing balm and support for patients and their families.
